New Mama’s Pack~Rx for a Health Pregnancy Review & Giveaway
My OB is sure to ask me at every appointment if I am taking my prenatal vitamin. This is probably the most important thing that we can do as mothers to make sure our babies are obtaining the optimum health benefits in womb. However, those nasty large horse pills often prevent me from following through with this task. They are hard on my tummy and I tend to shy away from things that make me feel worse. But what if I told you that you could be drinking your prenatal vitamins in style? Vitalah, creators of Oxylent, has just introduced Prenatal Oxylent.
Lisa Lent, Founder and CEO of Vitalah, “Pregnant women are often faced with having to swallow large, unpleasant tasting pills during a time when their palate and stomachs are most sensitive. Our comprehensive formula, Prenatal Oxylent, delivers key nutrients to support both mom and baby in a way that is easy to prepare, conveniently goes where mom goes, and helps hydrate the body. We use only the highest quality ingredients such as Albion chelated minerals.”
Using this product is easy and helps boost that ever so important water intake. Just add the Raspberry Cranberry flavored powder to water, watch it fizz, add some ice if you like and drink the multivitamin cocktail of nutrients. They come in convenient little packets that are easy to slip in your diaper bag/purse in case you are like me and forget until you are half way through your day and hours from getting home.
It is Gluten, Lactose, Caffeine, and Sugar Free and contains the following:
•Folic Acid
• Vitamin D
• Vitamin B12
• Vitamin B6
• Zinc
• Iron
• Choline
• Calcium
• Vitamin C
Nordic Naturals makes the purest and highest quality fihs oils including Prenatal DHA. I’ve had three children before I heard of the importance of these healthy fats for baby’s nervous system and cognitive growth. I also learned that they are very important for healthy joints and can help reduce certain types of pain (but that is my own opinion and conclusion).
Scientific research confirms the importance of essential fatty acids for prenatal, maternal and neonatal health. DHA comprises about 30% of the fatty tissue in the brain and is essential for proper development of the brain, eyes, nerves and immune system. Studies consistently report that pregnant women in the US and Canada consume far too little of this essential nutrient.
Before I was put on bedrest I was visited by a local retired doctor that knew nothing about me, only that I was in a lot of pain and pregnant. He recommended that I start fish oil as soon as possible to help my baby avoid birth defects such as autism and help relieve my back pain. Like I said I was not seeing him, nor was he associated with prenatal care, it was just his opinion for my own health based on what he had seen in the many years he practiced. I have yet to deliver this baby and my situation with my back escalated beyond a preventative point, but I still believe that Omega-3 is very important for mothers pre, during, and post natal.
I’ve taken many different brands of Omega-3 during my adult life and Nordic Natural has been the easiest on my stomach. I haven’t noticed the fishy taste or really a very fishy aftertaste either. The color is almost clear, which is also something I never encountered before. I also noticed my bottle says comes in strawberry flavored, now that would be different. My only complaint is living in a high humid area, the pills had no silica (or moisture whatever) and the pills stuck all together so I have to pry them apart.
Most importantly, Nordic Naturals is the official omega-3 of the American Pregnancy Association and Prenatal Oxylent is the official multivitamin of APA. See www.americanpregnancy.org

Very nice. The winner should feel like one lucky lady. Fish oil and proper vitamin/mineral nutrition are probably the 2 most important things a pregnant woman can do. With so many birth defects and disabilities occuring more and more, why not lessen the risk?
FOR ME, a day without my Oxylent, is a day without waking up.
This would be great for my Best friend who is expecting! she is having a hard time getting the right amounts of vitamins!
