Getting Outdoors with My Kids

Fall is coming quickly so I have been trying to spend all the time i can with my kids out doors. I keep my jogging stroller in the back of my car so if I have some free time with the kids we can stop and walk to the play ground equipment at the parks in town or down the walking paths in town or around the lake.

Right now we are traveling, but with 4 kids getting out and running around is a must. Its getting late and I haven’t loaded my pictures from the day, but we stopped at a State park and toured the old Fort and checked out the cannons out in the field. The kids were hoping to swim today, but there will be plenty of time for that during the week.

I’m focusing on eating right while we are on the road and doing the 2 Week Challenge along with the graduate workouts. I will journal sometime soon. I hope you are all having a great week.

I have one active giveaway right now.  Want to get your kids interested in eating their “Greens”? Enter to win Feeling Great with Jasper State If you can spare a moment please stop by my Rafflecopter.

What do you do to stay on track while traveling?

We don’t travel a lot but if we are going places where I know healthy alternatives will be non-existent I pack my own popcorn, or fruits n veggies! I am so happy fall is coming!

  2. It’s *so* hard to stay on track while traveling. Sounds like you’re doing a fantastic job!

  3. Eating right on the road can be so challenging – but you so so can do it – I believe in you. With your specal experience, you can so kick butt

  4. I bring a ton of my own foods when we travel by baking muffins, packing sunbutter travel packs, fruit puree’s and our non-dairy milks. I also look to see if there is a gym at the hotel or book a hotel where there is a gym. :) It is hard, but it can be done. Cute post!!

  5. I hope you are enjoying your trip! I thought about writing about keeping on track while traveling because it really is hard. I try and keep healthy snacks with me. I have lists of what is okay to eat where and make sure and read calories on menus if they are available.

  6. It’s so hard to be good when you aren’t at home with your regular schedule. I just try my best to keep my eating under control. I find that’s what makes the most trouble!

That can’t be easy to do the challenge on the road, but great job with it!

  8. Good job with keeping up with the workouts while on vacation!

  9. Generally, I am more active when we are traveling because we tend to stay at hotels with pools and my children and I love to swim so we’ll swim for hours. Plus we walk a lot while sightseeing.

    • We were only able to do minor sightseeing. I wish we could have fir more in thought. I did try to pick hotels with pools, but our days were so long we only got to swim once :(
