My Polk Love Music “love story”:
Growing up I had a desire to be a part of something more musical. I sang in tights and tee shirts out on the sidewalk as a preschooler and brought my show in off the road by bashing the ivory piano keys with a cereal bowl. My dad would play the theme to the Pink Panther on the piano as my little sister and I danced around the living room like we were spies or went crazy as he played Flight of the Bumblebee.
When I got a little older I joined the elementary school choir, played french horn in junior high band and in high school I played the cello and taught myself to play the Moonlight Sonata on the same broken keyed piano. As a teen I wrote my own lyrics and sang songs in my room until 3am. My husband probably doesn’t know it, but I still write songs in my head and in notebooks and sing when he is not around.
Polk was born in 1972′s when three college grads came together with a killer love of music. They wanted small American made affordable concert quality sound that wasn’t the size of a refrigerator. They grew their family over the decades in Baltimore, where they are still located today. On Valentine’s Day Polk launched The Love Music Project, a way to let fans share in their love for music. The online project site is a place where fans can share their “love story” with each other and the Polk family. I like to think of it as Pinterest meets Instagram.
“Were in the business of crafting great sound and supporting our customers’ love for great music,” said Blair Tripodi, Chief Marketing Office, Polk. “And we want to cultivate and spread that sentiment. It’s only natural to get our users to help make that happen.”
The site is easily accessible, allowing you to easily upload your music “love story”. Upload video or photo-text and then easily share on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Google +.
Your own “love story will be mingling with Polk- sponsored athletes like Paul Rabil and Torrey Smith.
